Forum Die Roller

Post  Dragonchampion on Fri Feb 18, 2011 12:42 pm

GMs, I expect you to use it. it has d4, d6, d8, d10, d20, and d100. I will include more as requested.

To use it, simply use the selector underneath the "submit" button to choose number of die and what to roll. GMs then hit submit to roll the die, and it shows the roll. Since they cannot change during editing, they can then go back and edit the rolls with information as they need. Very Happy

If you have any suggestions or anything, PM me!

This will be useful in case people post this sort of messages "I ONLY GET BAD ROLLS, YOU ARE CHEATING THE ROLLS AREN'T YOU?!?!".

It's not very economical. Every time one wants to update he will essentially add two posts to his thread instead of one, burgeoning the pagesize over time. That, and the extra posts by the administrator are rather out-of-place, and the rolls are displayed before the results are written, which may spoil gameplay. I'm probably going to use outside utilities for dice, if that's acceptable- or perhaps the dice roller's results could be integrated into the post preview, somehow?

Well, it is really up to the players, this feature is completely optional.

Hey guys, I found a couple of dice rollers, on a D&D site.

http://www.adnddownloads.com/dicerollers.php

There's some pretty nifty ones in there, and I guess you could screenshot the results, and post them as a pic on the forums..

Though, why not just believe the GMs? They're not going to purposely ruin your rolls..

Edit: Also take a look at The Creator System! (''Thema's Diebag'') It's a really nifty program, fun to create dungeons and such with.

or simply use www.random.org as you can choose any dices. I believe that if you feel that you want to see a screenshot for the rolls it's a sucky GameMaster as the players can't trust him. I know that some GMs do make the rolls better (Like changing a 1 to 3) and that stuff, I have done that in some critical points, but I have decided to try to avoid that as often as possible if an action could break my game. But I know that like no gamemasters do sink the rolls, like a 5 to a 1 or something like that.

My apologies if this seems rude, as I only joined the forum to comment on this thread.

HOW do you embed the Die Roller?!?!?! I have my own Forumotion Forum that I need a Die Roller on, and I can't figure out at all how to put it on my Forum. If anyone could help I'd be ETERNALLY grateful.
