Hi! I wanna ask you a thing: I wanna make my own R2D, and I want it to be quite unique, so the whole game will be ruled by you. All I do is roll and create the story after your actions. U can do whatever you want to. If you feel like you can kill ur friends, or maybe join the evil guys, or even take suicide if you want to. You can learn any skill, unless it is too OP. The idea is that all of you wake up in a Pitch Black Room. Then depending on your actions will you learn where you are and all that stuff. I wonder if any1 will play there? I will use this system:
1 Epic Fail
2 Fail
3 Kinda Fail
4 Success
5 PERFECT
6 Overshot
U'll have 1 major and 1 minor action. Also, it is possible to PM me your actions if you don't wanna show it to the other players, mostly reasons if you are being selfish, betraying or something else they shouldn't know. I'll start when i have 3-4 people and max is 6. Waitinglist allowed, and if u die can u get on the waitinglist again if u want. It'll go a little faster then other games, becouse 1 is as good as always insta death and 2 is death if u do something dangerous.
Also will the enemy not come by themself. If you maybe drop a screvdriver or kills someone can they hear you and come running, though I won't alert u, so u have to be ready all the time.

Rolling 1 resulting in instadeath means you have almost 1/3 chance to die in the first two rolls, and rolling 2 sometimes resulting in instadeath makes it even worse. The point isn't that characters will die too easily, but the fact that with 6 players you (statistically) get one death every roll and need to introduce a new character from the waiting list at an insanely high rate.

I mean if something can go wrong, like let's say that u are going to fire a gun. If u roll a 1 u'll probably shooturself in the face or something. If you walk or run forward can u trip over a bananashell and break the leg if i roll 1.

You know, I meant the "dying every 6 turns" part to suck, not you, your game or anything else. Sorry I wasn't clear on that.
And I'll take this chance to tell you guys I'm using the firefox 4.0 beta, so you should know it's kinda buggy with the cache thing, if a page has more than 5 posts and only a short message was sent it will mark the page as "not worthy to load" and will just load the cache, so the only thing I saw was the post saying the death rate statistics.

1=Death? You should have to get 3 or 4 1's to die. Make that change and I'll join.

Yeah, I changed that. When I think about it does it actually sound quite annoying. But i'll also have that the dangerouser an action is, the bigger chance of death on 1, but not instadeath if it isn't like Fire my Bazooka 5 times, throw 15 grenades and jump over that cliff. It'll be big chance to die there, if u don't have good skills in all that

So rolling a 1 on shooting stuff won't kill me, just bruise my shoulder by recoil or something?

Dude, if I were running the game, brushing teeth on a 1 just means that you do it a bit faster than you usually do due to environmental circumstances- you're slightly running late or something. Even poking your eye sounds a lot harsher than what I usually do.
Then again, you've said I'm one of the most lenient GM's on here thus far.
What some people don't really seem to get is that The GM Is Not The Enemy. Your job isn't to make the game hard- it's to make the game fun. Difficulty in creative ways is fun- difficulty in stupid ways is not. And your statistics are definitely pretty bad if you're going to make one player die per roll.

yeah, i would personal like a really hard game, but you have convinced me that i am probably the only one who likes that, so i'll not be sooo strict, maybe a little stricter then some of you, but i'll try to not be too strict. Who's on? Also do you like that you determine the story on your actions, or i have made it by myself?

Never tell your players that you've already decided the story beforehand- it ruins their experience of interaction. If you're going to railroad, try to avoid letting it be noticed. Every player wants power in his own hands- it's just a natural part of playing these Roleplaying Games.

As i thought Then will my R2D not have a single piece of story that i have made before, the whol story will depend on their actions

That may not quite be optimal either. Just because you don't want them to know doesn't mean you can't do it. For example, when I wrote my updates in Prismpunk the stuff I had in mind was just "Cart breaks down, town in trouble, bandits steal stuff, one bandit has cool gear". Note that the actual events were quite more detailed, thanks to the different players' actions.
Having a setting is good, and knowing how you want the game to feel (dark? light? gritty? fantastic?) is a good thing too, and a framework for the story is quite necessary, lest you end up with a chaotic pile of disconnected events. But you don't let your players see the framework- you cover the skeleton of your story with the flesh and blood that the players provide in the form of actions.
Just do what you think is best- GMing is a skill that must be improved, like all others, through experience.

I cut the whole forest segment and the sniper pursuit section and replaced them with the town diplomacy segment- the story has to be fluid. That's the most critical part of interactive storytelling.

Ok, thanks for the ideas! I do though have a small idea of how it should begin though, but i'll try to let my players determine almost all, i believe people find it funnier that way

Home now. Who's on it? I've got another thing I would like to add: A special map, Everything is black in the beginning. Then when u explore will you be able too see more stuff. Also, I want you to have a voting here, which of these game modes would you prefer:

2. You wake up i a big forest with nothing but clothes. Then will you have to fight for your survival and a special thing: I will add a money system, which I think would be cool. You can find stuff and sell it for money to buy weapons or other stuff. This will be a very unique game mode (I think so atleast ) And it is the one I woustly wants to do. I will try to add some more fun elements in it, like limited inventory and weapon damage so they eventually wears down.

EDIT: Please tell me what I am making wrong, and why you guys don't want to play my game. I would really want to do a R2D, and i've already made a small map of the world. I have watched a lot of R2Ds and played 2, so I think I know enought to make a quite good one. I also believe that this forum lacks a mediaval R2D, which mine is supposed to be. But atm can't I make it cuz the lack of players
